AirBorn TriMate® Rugged Circular Connectors
AirBorn TriMate® Rugged Circular Connectors are available in ratcheting threaded plugs, push-pull plugs, and break-away plugs for applications requiring quick demating. The three available plug options reduce manufacturing complexity, as all three styles mate with the same receptacle. These connectors utilize MIL-C-39029 contacts, and the solid-body pin and socket construction and anti-overstress socket hoods provide complete reliability. AirBorn TriMate Rugged Circular Connectors are suitable for radar systems, ground vehicles, training equipment, autonomous equipment, robotic systems, and factory automation.Push-Pull Coupling
TriMate's locking systems utilize a ball and groove design, minimizing space and ensuring a consistent, reliable retention force. Pulling on the cable does not affect the locking mechanism, and uncoupling is initiated by pulling on the coupling ring.
Break-Away Coupling
The break-away locking system is almost identical to the push-pull coupling system with the ball locking removed, but the mating force is preserved. To uncouple the break-away plug, simply pull axially along the connector, or when using an overmolded cable, pull anywhere along the cable until separated.
Threaded Coupling
The improved tri-start threaded coupling system features a ratcheting design that resists vibration. Similar to the MIL-DTL-38999 tri-start threads, TriMate includes additional peripheral sealing to block dirt, dust, and moisture from the connector interface.
