Der STMicroelectronics L9942 ist ein Motortreiber für bipolare Schrittmotoren mit Mikroschrittfunktion und programmierbarer Lookup-Tabelle für das Stromprofil, um eine flexible Anpassung der Schrittmotoreigenschaften und der beabsichtigten Betriebsbedingungen zu ermöglichen. Je nach Zielkriterien (hörbarer Lärm, Schwingungen, Drehzahl oder Drehmoment) können unterschiedliche Stromprofile gewählt werden. Der Decay-Modus, der im PWM-Stromregelkreis verwendet wird, kann für Slow-, Fast-, Mixed- sowie Auto-Decay programmiert werden. Im Auto-Decay-Modus verwendet das Bauteil den Slow-Decay-Modus, wenn der Strom für den nächsten Schritt ansteigt oder den Fast-Decay- bzw. Mixed-Decay-Modus, wenn der Strom sinkt. Die programmierbare Blockiererkennung vermeidet bei Scheinwerfer-Regulierungs- und Kurvenlichtanwendungen, dass der Motor zu lange in der Blockierposition läuft. Wird ein Blockieren erkannt wird, wird der Anpassungsprozess abgeschlossen und Lärm minimiert.

- All parameters are guaranteed for 3V < VCC < 5.3V and for 7V < Vs < 20V
