Die KSZ8864 sind speziell für kostengünstige 10/100-MBit/s-Schaltsysteme mit 4 Anschlüssen, On-Chip-Anschluss und geringe Leistungsaufnahme konzipiert, um Systemkosten zu sparen. Die Schalter verfügen über eine Hochleistungs-Speicherbandbreite von 1,4 GBit/s, ein gemeinsam genutztes Speicher-basiertes Schalter-Gewebe mit voller, nicht blockierender Konfiguration. Die KSZ8864 bieten umfassende Funktionen wie Leistungsmanagement, programmierbare Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung und Prioritätsverhältnis. Andere Funktionen umfassen Tag-/Anschluss-basiertes VLAN, Gehäusefilterung, Quality-of-Service (QoS), vier Warteschlangenprioritätsstufen, Management-Schnittstelle und MIB-Zähler.
The KSZ8864 contains four MACs and two PHYs. The two PHYs support the 10/100Base-T/TX. All registers of MACs and PHYs units can be managed by the control interface of SPI or the SMI. MIIM registers the PHYs can be accessed through the MDC/MDIO interface. EEPROM can set all control registers by the I2C controller interface for the unmanaged mode.
The Microchip Technology KSZ8864 4-Port 10/100 Managed Ethernet Switch is offered in a compact QFN-64 package and is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
