EDATEC ED-Pi400 40-Pin I/O Protector & Extender
EDATEC ED-Pi400 40-Pin I/O Protector and Extender lead 40-pin GPIO signals from the Raspberry Pi 400 to a circuit board. The ED-Pi400 40-Pin I/O Protector is designed to protect the Raspberry Pi 400 via an ESD immunity IC, tiny switch, and overcurrent limit circuit. The Protector features a tiny switch at the left edge that controls the daughter board's +5V and +3.3V power supplies. All 40x signals from the Raspberry Pi 400 are protected by an ESD immunity IC (including the power signal) that absorbs the ESD energy, including from the daughter boards. 33Ω current limit resistors protect all GPIO signals. A short circuit between the GPIOs and GPIO to GND 5V or 3.3V won't damage the IO of the Raspberry Pi 400. The I/O board has a 40-pin ribbon cable in gray and rainbow color options. Connectors include a 40-pin black male connector with anti-reverse insertion at one end and a 40-pin female connector at the back of the Raspberry Pi 400.
The EDATEC ED-Pi400 40-Pin I/O Extender supports Raspberry Pi computers that need to connect 40-pin IO signals with a daughterboard. The Extender is a ribbon cable featuring a 40-pin black male connector with anti-reverse insertion at one end, which connects to the 40-pin female connector at the back of the Raspberry Pi 400. The 40-pin gray female connector at the other end is marked with PINs 1, 2, and 40. Alignment marks remind users to insert the daughter board in the correct orientation and position. The wrong orientation and misalignment will damage the Raspberry Pi 400 and the daughterboard. The ribbon cable is available in gray and rainbow color options.
