Melexis MLX90640 Far Infrared Thermal Sensor
Melexis MLX90640 Far Infrared Thermal Sensor is a fully calibrated 32 x 24 pixel thermal IR array in a compact, industry-standard, 4-lead TO39 package featuring a digital interface. The MLX90640 contains 768 FIR (Far Infrared) pixels. An ambient sensor is integrated to measure the ambient temperature of the chip and a supply sensor to measure the VDD. The outputs of all IR, Ta, and VDD sensors are stored in internal RAM and accessible through I2C.The MLX90640 has a -40°C to 85°C operational temperature range and can measure object temperatures between -40°C and 300°C. Maintaining high levels of precision across its full measurement scale, this Far Infrared sensor delivers a typical target object temperature accuracy of ±1°C.
The MLX90640 Sensor Array is ideal for safety and convenience applications, including fire prevention systems, smart buildings, intelligent lighting, IP/surveillance cameras, HVAC equipment, and vehicle seat occupancy detection.
