Die MIL-DTL-38999 Rundsteckverbinder der Baureihe III von Amphenol, die für den Betrieb unter extrem hohen Temperaturen und Vibrationen entwickelt wurden, bieten schnelles Koppeln über das Tri-Start™-Gewinde, Gehäuse-zu-Gehäuse- oder Metall-zu-Metall-Verbindungen sowie verbesserte EMI-Abschirmung. Amphenol hat diese Eigenschaften entwickelt, um eine EMI-Abschirmungsleistung von min. 65 dB bei 10 GHz und eine Korrosionsbeständigkeit von bis zu 500 Stunden Salzsprühnebel zu erzielen. Die MIL-DTL-38999 Rundsteckverbinder der Baureihe III von Amphenol haben einen Nennstrombereich von 1,5 A bis 5,0 A, einen Temperaturbereich von -65 ⁰C bis 175 ⁰C, einen Isolierwiderstand von min. 5000 Megohm bei 500 VDC 25 °C sowie eine dielektrische Spannungsfestigkeit von 1000 VRMS auf Meereshöhe.
